Ever wondered wonder what are the various factors that draw visitors to your exhibition booth? No matter how many visitors drop by the exhibition or trade show, there is an exhibition booth where visitors will naturally visit the most. Ever wondered what make them visit their booth instead of yours? Is it because of the attractiveness, the various promotions they offer or the cozy space in the exhibition booth? Today we will explore 5 key important factor towards effective exhibition booth design.Exhibition Booth Design #1-Audience Analysis comes first
Is your exhibition booth targeting the correct target market?
I still remember when we organize a trade show a few years ago, when we approach exhibitors to participate in our trade show, a common question we frequently get would be who will be attending the trade show? How many visitors are coming for the trade show? People are concern only on one thing, it is the trade show visitors. (in the eyes of the exhibitors they are so called - prospects, referrals, or future customer). So before we begin by coming out with the design and ideas, the first question we need to ask is who will drop by our booth?
Before going directly into crafting message you wish to send out to the visitors, first and foremost we must understand our target market. Audience analysis comes first before anything is done.
Audience analysis is important to know what are audience looking for at the moment. What are their buying behaviors. What triggers them to take action on something? What do they do on weekends? What are the latest trends that they show interest in? By understanding our audience well and thoroughly, we will know the needs of our audience and this will help us in crafting the message base on the needs they need.
Your booth appeal can make or break sales - According to Trade Show Advisor Dot com, "You have three seconds to make an impression on those walking past your exhibit. Each graphic component you use for display signage, retractable banner stands, trade show table cloths and other visible booth elements must be visually arresting and meaningful enough to compel attendees to stop and learn more."

Exhibition Booth Design #2 - The key message
Once we know well who will be attending the trade shows and what will they be seeking for, next is to ensure that we convey or communicate our key message to them effectively. What is your company, product or brand image? When it comes to exhibition booth design, we will consider how can your booth convey your company image, brand image and the product and services you offer.
Colors plays and important role here. Using the correct and appropriate colors to design your booth is important. Perhaps with the help of your creative team or perhaps an external exhibition stand designer, you will be able to come out with the correct key message that conveys to the trade visitors effectively. Always remember that you are now creating a 3 dimension design, an exhibition booth that humans can see touch and feel. Questions to ask when designing your booth is - What is the message i wish to send out to the trade visitors? Will they understand? Will it attract them to your booth? Does it reflect your brand image? What is the first impression when they see your booth?
Exhibition Booth Design #3 - Exhibition Booth Appeal
Your booth appeal can make or break sales - According to Trade Show Advisor Dot com, "You have three seconds to make an impression on those walking past your exhibit. Each graphic component you use for display signage, retractable banner stands, trade show table cloths and other visible booth elements must be visually arresting and meaningful enough to compel attendees to stop and learn more."
Below are a few factors to consider for exhibition booth appeal
Color: The color and tones you choose for your display can help you stand out, as well as convey your message. Cool colors like blue, green and white appear slick and professional, yet may not be strong interest grabbers.
Warm colors like red, orange, and yellow attract more attention, yet need to be used selectively because they can be seen as too strong or carry other connotations.
Lighting: Creative use of lighting can help draw focus to your booth. You can choose to spotlight a new product or creative a warm, inviting atmosphere that beckons attendees.
Motion: Few exhibitors use motion technique to draw visitors to their display area or a specific trade show booth graphic.Yet, projecting a DVD onto a large screen, having product demonstrations, using colorful streamers, or other moving objects can be highly effective.
Sound: Having nice music, playing nature sounds (if appropriate to your product), featuring live entertainers or other sounds that appeal to auditory senses may help entice people to your booth.Yet, be careful that sound levels are appropriately set so they can be heard in your area, yet don’t disturb other exhibitors around you.
Smell: Like the alluring scent of cinnamon buns found in shopping mall stores, having cookies or another tantalizing smell emanate from your booth will attract visitors. Many exhibitors use popcorn as an enticement. This approach is overused and will not make your booth seem unique or different (plus constantly making and serving popcorn will distract your booth workers from the task you hired them to do – create new sales revenue). - See more HERE
Exhibition Booth Design #4 - Exhibition Booth Size
You must know when it comes to exhibition booth design, the size you wish to have is also another factor that affect exhibition experience. Return of Investment (ROI) - Is it worth spending money for just a small standard modular booth that do not attract the crowd much or is it worth spending the money designing the exhibition booth that attract visitor over to your booth. If doing the maths well, the return of investment is high you might as well spend the money to design and install custom made booth. After all you are want the to be seen the most and be the best of the best in an exhibition. You must take into consideration the cost of installing and also designing. Bigger booth requires more money, interactive installation and complicated design requires more investment. At the end of the day the question we want to ask ourselves, does it benefit us, does it helps build relationship with our customer or audience that visits the booth. By all means if the exhibition booth designs help attract the visitors over to your booth instead of other exhibitors booth, and with the help of your sales staff on duty, it is advisable to evaluate the amount of money spend.Exhibition Booth Design - 5 Exhibition Booth Location
Location plays an important part here. Taking in consideration the traffic flow, your booth location will play an important role here. We do not want to be unseen after putting so much effort to design and install the exhibition booth. After all the main purpose of exhibition booth design is to attract the visitors to your booth so that it acts as a lead generating tools to generate leads and converting them into prospect. Question we should ask would be : Where is the entrance of the exhibition, where is the exit of the exhibition? So that we know roughly the traffic flow.Lessons to take home today.
